On Sept. 28 police announced the arrest of an Oceanside man who was reportedly among “dozens” of motorcyclists seen in July performing “dangerous stunts,” stopping traffic and refusing to obey police commands to pull over.

Dean Wroblewski, 25, was arrested following an investigation of a July 18 incident where, shortly after 6 p.m., an officer observed the group driving recklessly while heading eastbound on Sunrise Highway near Park Lane in Massapequa.

Responding officers tried to stop the group after it entered and headed northbound on the Seaford/Oyster Bay Expressway, but “Two of the operators positioned their motorcycles to box the officer in, preventing the traffic stop,” police said in a news release.

Wroblewski, who was reportedly driving a red Kawasaki, was seen committing numerous Vehicle Traffic Law violations while refusing to pull over for police.

He was charged with second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, third-degree unlawful fleeing of a police officer, reckless driving and 24 Vehicle Traffic Law violations. He was arraigned on Sept. 29 at the First District Court.
