Ringing in more than 65 years of charity, Oceanside’s Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary is set to hold its anniversary game show fundraiser and membership drive on May 31 at the Oceanside Knights of Columbus hall on Kenneth place.

It is the last fundraiser of the year for the group, which follows the Columbian calendar ending in June, according to Ladies Auxiliary President Vanessa Ambrosecchia.

“We’re a sisterhood,” she said. “Our goal is to support each other and to work in sisterhood for our charities in a fun way.” The charities the auxiliary supports, she explained, are selected and vetted each year by members of the club and have included organizations such as Island Harvest, the Morgan Center, Bethany House, the Long Island Crisis Hotline, Hewlett House and many more.

The Auxiliary holds multiple fundraisers a year to support these causes, and charity is the group’s primary goal accord

In addition to supporting worthy local causes, Ambrosecchia added that becoming a member of the Ladies Auxiliary is a great way to meet new people and make friends through monthly meetings and events.

The May 31 fundraiser will feature TV-style game shows such as “The Price is Right” and “Lets Make a Deal,” hosted by professional emcee and television personality Meester Mario. Additionally members of Oceanside High School’s Thespian Troupe 132 will provide a live musical performance.
