Philip G. Geyer

Philip G. Geyer of Rockville Centre died on Aug. 23. He was 82.

A graduate of Bishop Laughlin High School, Georgetown University and the NYU School of Business, Geyer, who owned an insurance company in Ridgewood, N.Y. was a longtime member of the Rockville Links Club and the Atlantic Beach Club. He was active in the Christian Brothers and was the past president of the Rockville Centre Little League and the Rockville Centre Basketball League.

Geyer treasured watching his children and grandchildren grow up, loved to tell a story, was an avid Hoya fan and enjoyed speaking to the many former Rockville Centre players he coached who would reminisce with him.

Predeceased by his wife, JoAnn (nee: Stepanich) and by his son, James (Cathy), he is survived by sons Philip J. (Leanna), John, and daughter Gigi Marasco (Paul). He is also survived by grandchildren Michele, Matthew, Philip, Laura, Rachel and Joey, as well as a sister, Elizabeth.

Geyer lay in repose at Macken Mortuary on Aug. 24 and a funeral Mass was held the following morning at St. Agnes Cathedral. Interment followed at St. John’s Cemetery in Middle Village.
