A brief police chase ended in Baldwin with a Hempstead man in handcuffs and charged with stealing at least four cars throughout Nassau County, police said. Damian Patrice, 21, was arrested in Baldwin on Nov. 30 and charged with second-degree grand larceny, second- and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, second-degree criminal mischief, two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, reckless driving, fleeing a police officer and multiple driving violations.
The NCPD said in a statement a Roslyn Heights man noticed his 2018 Lexus missing from his driveway at 7 a.m. Nov. 30. A Hempstead police officer spotted the vehicle in Baldwin, at which time Patrice allegedly fled the scene. He again fled after being spotted on Westbury Boulevard, cops said, before parking the car on Edward Street in Baldwin. He was found in Baldwin shortly after that and was taken into custody.
In addition to the theft of the 2018 Lexus, Patrice is being charged with stealing two cars on Nov. 26 and another on Nov. 24.
