Portion of Lido Blvd. closed after water main break

A portion of Lido Boulevard closed temporarily after a car collided with a fire hydrant Thursday morning and caused a water main to break, the Long Beach Fire Department said on Facebook.

The road has reopened but the eastbound right lane is closed, the department said.

Long Beach High School and Middle School experienced two-hour delayed openings because of the road closure, the school district said on its website.

All morning pre-kindergarten classes were cancelled. All other buildings, including Lido Elementary School, opened on time.
