PSEG to install new poles, utility wires in Baldwin

PSEG Long Island announced last week that it has started a “circuit reliability project” in parts of Baldwin, West Hempstead, Hempstead Village and Oceanside, which involves the replacement of utility poles and wires in an effort to improve the reliability of its energy grid.
The work, which is expected to last about six months and will be funded with federal dollars, will also include the transferring of main line wires underground in select rear properties.
“PSEG Long Island works hard every day to ensure customers have the most reliable and resilient electric service possible,”
John O’Connell, PSEG LI’s vice president of Transmission and Distribution Operation, said in a statement.

PSEG LI crews will be visible on the following streets in Baldwin and Oceanside: Oceanside Road between Windsor Parkway and Sunnyside Road;            
Sunnyside Road between Oceanside Road and Brower Avenue;
Brower Avenue between Sunnyside Road and Fortesque Avenue;          
Fortesque Avenue between Brower Avenue and Foxhurst Road;             
Foxhurst Road between Sheldon Place and Merrick Road;            
Oceanside Road between Foxhurst Road and Eileen Road;           
West End Avenue between Foxhurst Road and Thomas Avenue;              
Thomas Avenue between West End Avenue and Grand Avenue;              
Merrick Road between Gale Avenue and Central Avenue; and Harrison Avenue between Sunrise Highway (Route 27) and Clinton Place
Additionally, work will be conducted on the following streets in West Hempstead, Hempstead Village and Baldwin:
Eagle Avenue between Hempstead Gardens Drive and Southern State Parkway;              
Park Avenue between Eagle Avenue and Maple Street;
Maple Street between Park Avenue and Kent Place;       
Kent Place between Maple Street and Elm Street;            
Elm Street between Kent Place and Hempstead Gardens Drive; 
Hempstead Gardens Drive between Washington Avenue and Hempstead Avenue;         
Peninsula Boulevard between Southern State Parkway and Sycamore Avenue;
Alabama Avenue between Peninsula Boulevard and Virginia Avenue;     
West Graham Avenue between Peninsula Boulevard and Baldwin Road;               
Sycamore Avenue between Rose Avenue and West Graham Avenue;    
South Franklin Street between Peninsula Boulevard and West Graham Avenue;
Baldwin Road between Greenwich Street and Southern State Parkway;
Grand Avenue between Southern State Parkway and Maude Street;
