Half of Blue Moon, a local pizzeria that has served North Park Avenue patrons for 24 years, has transformed into a dining room offering family-style Italian specialties.

“It’s not a new restaurant, but it’s an addition to Blue Moon,” owner Ray Montemurro said of the repurposed room. “It’s separate, but it’s not.”

The re-painted space is called Twenty Four N. Park, and features a southern Italian style of cooking geared more toward larger groups. “I think the menu’s a little more exciting,” Montemurro said. “It’s got a little more pizzazz to it.”

In addition to favorites like baked clams and fried calamari, Twenty Four N. Park offers signatures pastas, a variety of chicken, veal, steak and seafood dishes, as well as an array of white and red wines.

The new dining room, which can be accessed from the street through a doorway not used in years, officially opened on Aug. 13. Montemurro also owns Dodici, another Italian eatery located a few doors down.
