Seaford resident Jacqueline Bushwack, from Rivkin Radler Attorneys at Law, was named one of the 2018 annual New York Metro Super Lawyers “Rising Stars.”

This is Bushwack’s second consecutive year receiving this recognition. She’s been with the firm since September 2007.

Being named a Super Lawyer is a tremendous honor reserved for only the top 5% of all lawyers in a given state or region, according to a news release. The top 2.5 percent of lawyers ages 40 and under make up the Rising Stars list.

Bushwack is a Rivkin Radler LLP’s Complex Torts and Product Liability, General Liability and Medical Malpractice Defense Practice Groups partner, according to her biography on the firm’s website. She defends the following groups: “property owners; universities; construction management companies; construction contractors; pharmaceutical companies; convenience store chains; hospitals; physicians; adult care facilities and others in suits alleging premises liability; violations of New York State’s Labor Law; product liability; pharmaceutical liability; medical and dental malpractice; nursing home negligence; and toxic exposures (including asbestos and lead paint).”

According to the biography, Bushwack co-chairs the Work/Life Management Sub-Committee of the Section of Litigation’s Woman Advocate Committee of the American Bar Association (ABA). She also is active as the sub-committee chair of Book Projects with ABA. Bushwack also serves as a member attorney of the USLAW Network, Inc. and is on the board of directors of the North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center.

Bushwack was among those selected by Long Island Business News for both the 2014 and 2017 Long Island’s 50 Most Influential Women list. She attended Albany Law School and was the lead articles editor for the Albany Law School Journal of Science and Technology. She interned for the Honorable Lawrence Kahn of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York. Bushwack served on the Albany Law School board of trustees as a recent graduate trustee from 2007 to 2010.

Bushwack was an athlete in college and participates in the Rivkin Radler volleyball and softball teams.

“Jackie is a true asset to Rivkin Radler,” Managing Partner Evan Krinick said. “Her energy and effectiveness, whether representing clients or interacting with co-workers, is something I know I can always count on.”

According to a Rivkin Radler press release, 22 of the firm’s attorneys have been named to the 2018 New York Metro Super Lawyers List. Of those attorneys, 11 were named Rising Stars.
