The Central/Memorial PTSA hosted its annual holiday boutique and craft fair last Saturday afternoon. There were dozens of vendors who took up two gymnasiums at Central High School. The sellers had many handmade holiday gifts and treats. Money raised from the event will go toward scholarships for graduating seniors and other PTSA-sponsored events. more

Hurricane Irene left behind a trail of destruction in Valley Stream, including many downed trees, limbs, branches and power lines. There was some minimal flooding but no major property damage was reported. more
