Robert Bogle has served as Valley Stream Village Justice for 29 years. He said the expansion of the Quality of Life Court in the Village Court is a top priority for him. “This project has been extremely useful at resolving issues that affect our suburban life, including noise and property maintenance complaints,” he said.

Bogle said that because the village has been holding banks responsible for the foreclosed “zombie” properties they own, cleanup of those homes has been successful in recent months. He also cited the parking ticket amnesty program as a success each time it was provided, satisfying large outstanding files and assisting people who are experiencing economic hardship.

He said the new courthouse project at 195 Rockaway Ave., “in the heart of our business district,” is another priority. Partially funded by the New York State Office of Court Administration, he said the move will allow for expanded hours for court sessions, creating a greater level of flexibility.

“We hope to establish our courthouse as a new landmark structure that our residents can be proud of,” Bogle said.
