A Roosevelt man arrested at the scene of a gas station burglary in Garden City last Saturday was charged with six other break-ins, one of them at a Valley Stream store, according to Nassau County police.

Jermaine Clemmons, 35, of Roosevelt, was allegedly arrested by officers who were responding to an alarm at a Mobil gas station on Franklin Avenue at 2:43 a.m. and saw him inside the store.

Clemmons was arrested as he tried to flee, police said, and another man, Stephen Hudson, 49, of Hempstead, was arrested as he walked away from the scene. Police said Clemmons was charged with burglarizing Milk Farm Deli on North Central Avenue on April 9.

He was also charged with breaking into five other businesses in Franklin Square, West Hempstead and Garden City. Hudson was charged in two of those crimes.

Both men were arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
