The Village of Valley Stream recognized James Crawley at its meeting on Monday for turning 80 on Oct. 25. He has lived in the village for 77 years.

Crawley attended the Brooklyn Avenue School and graduated from Central High School in 1953. He and his wife Ruth raised their two children, Jennifer and Jim, on Munro Boulevard.

Ruth died in September. They were married for 55 years.

“Although it is a difficult time for you and your family, please accept our most sincere 80th birthday congratulations,” Fare said.

Jennifer Crawley brought her father’s birthday to the board’s attention, according to Fare.
