Posted

A man fled empty-handed from the Chase Bank on Rockaway Avenue on Jan. 26 after a teller did not hand over cash, Nassau County police said.

The man entered the bank, at 235 Rockaway Ave., at 4:34 p.m. and passed the note to the teller, but the teller “failed to comply,” police said. The suspect fled on foot west on West Hawthorne Avenue.

There were five employees and no customers in the bank at the time. No injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as white and between 5 feet 6 and 5 feet 8 with a thin build and wearing a black mask, a black jacket and black pants.

Police ask that anyone with information about the incident call (800) 244-TIPS.
