Mother, child struck by car

A mother and her 4-year-old child were taken to Franklin Hospital with minor injuries after they were struck by a car outside of the Valley Stream Post Office at the corner of North Franklin Avenue and Hawthorne Drive on the afternoon of Sept. 23.
The driver remained at the scene, according to Nassau Police, who said the collision is being investigated.
