Providing heroes for heroes at Ogden Elementary School

Posted

Ogden Elementary School welcomed men and women from Nassau County auxiliary police, local fire departments, crossing guards, emergency medical technicians and paramedics to Make-a-Difference Day on Oct. 21. The event was organized to honor and acknowledge these individuals for their daily efforts in the community.

Students worked together to honor these servicemen and women. Some shared their thoughts of appreciation and those in the fifth grade chorus sang patriotic songs as well as Charlie Puth’s, “One Call Away.” A dozen fifth grade students served the visitors hero sandwiches, mirroring their role as heroes in the community.
