Public hearing May 3 on variance for small apartment building on North Central Avenue

Posted

A public hearing will be held at Valley Stream Village Hall on Tuesday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss a developer’s request for a zoning variance that would allow for the construction of a three-story, nine-unit apartment building at 138 N. Central Avenue.

The developer, Riverstone Development, notified neighboring residents of the hearing by mail last week. The application for special use is required since there are only six apartments allowable for the location based on the square footage of the property. Additionally, village code requires that 18 off-street parking spaces be provided. The developer wants half that number.
