South H.S. holds benefit for food pantry

South High School hosted its second annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser on April 27, an event organized by the school’s Art Honor Society to benefit the Holy Name of Mary Church food pantry.

At the event, attendees received a soup lunch from local businesses such as Panera Bread and Valley Caterers in exchange for a donation to the food pantry. Clay bowls made and donated by art students were also available for purchase, with all proceeds going to the pantry.

The school’s Step and Cultural Society, and the cast of the school’s upcoming musical production, “Leader of the Pack,” provided entertainment for the evening with live dance and song performances.
