The Valley Stream Board of Trustees honored the Central Streamers dance team on Monday for their performance at the Orange Bowl, presenting the team with a citation and each member with a certificate of achievement.

“The renowned Streamers dance team is a decades-old tradition at Central,” said Mayor Ed Fare as a video of the performance played on a screen behind the dais. “Throughout the years, the squads have been renowned for their precision dance routines. They participate in annual V.S. Memorial Day parades, breast cancer walks at Jones Beach, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and have been invited to the dance team nationals at Disney World for countless years, winning numerous national championships.

“This past holiday season, the current team has added another prestigious performance to their impressive list of achievements…These women and gentleman represented Valley Stream on a national stage. They all certainly make our community proud.”
