Central High School students Paola Parola and Crisoula Lazaridis won top placement in the Art Guild’s Nassau County High School Student Juried Art Competition and Exhibition, and will have their pieces featured at a month-long exhibition at the gallery in the Elderfields Preserve in Manhasset.

Parola took first place for her drawing, “Self Portrait,” and Lazaridis earned second place for her sculpture, “The Scream.” Both were among 34 student artists whose work was selected for the exhibit.

“The Central High School administration congratulates Parola and Lazaridis on their fine recognitions,” said a statement from the Valley Stream Central High School District.
