The Grace Thunderettes are gearing up for a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in June after winning several trophies and medals at a competition in Deer Park on April 19.

The girls will travel to Myrtle Beach for the International Twirling Competition on June 26 and 27. Director Nancy Wasek said they will be holding several fundraisers to help offset the cost of getting there. The team has a GoFundMe page where they are accepting donations, and will sell candy outside King Kullen in Valley Stream on Sunday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will also hold a carwash in the driveway of Grace United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Registration for their summer program is now open for girls between the ages of 4 and 16. For more information, email gracethunderettes@hotmail.com or visit the group’s website.
