Second Suspect surrenders after escaping scene of incident

Two Queens men face felony charges in connection with an incident that occurred at Sears in the Green Acres Mall on Sept. 3.

Dave Jennings, 20, and Adler Clermont, 21, allegedly used fraudulent credit cards to purchase merchandise totaling $934.15. Store employees became suspicious and contacted police, who arrived while the suspects were waiting at the merchandise pick-up counter, police said.

Clermont reportedly fled the scene while Jennings was placed under arrest. A subsequent investigation identified Clermont, who surrendered himself to the Nassau County Police Department’s Crimes Against Property Squad on Sept. 17.

Jennings was charged with third-degree grand larceny and second-degree possession of a forged instrument. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Sept. 4.

Clermont was charged with third-degree grand larceny and two counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Sept. 18.
