In the second half, South built off its strong first-half finish to extend its lead to 32-25 entering the fourth quarter. The game also marked South’s fundraiser for breast cancer research. Players from both teams wore pink warm-up shirts and socks to mark the occasion.

Manikas said the Lady Falcons were motivated to play in front of their home crowd on the special occasion. “They played with such heart and hustle and they took advantage of the fact that it was their night,” she said.

As the season winds down both teams will look to finish strong, but after their first win of the season, the Lady Falcons were ready to celebrate. “It’s a great feeling because we’ve been really struggling all year,” Drumm said. “Tonight we put it all together.”
