Valley Stream businesswoman recognized

Local business owner Catherine Morris, of Orange Skye Body and Beauty Bar, at 50 Rockaway Avenue in Valley Stream, was recognized last month at the Black Business Awards ceremony for winning in the Best Massage and Spa Therapy for 2015 category.

“I would like to congratulate the distinguished businesses being honored today for their contributions and successes within their communities and throughout Nassau County,” County Executive Ed Mangano said at the ceremony. “I commend the Black Business Awards team for their hard work in putting today’s event together and for providing a platform for these emerging businesses to be recognized for their accomplishments.”

The event was created to “raise awareness of the black businesses in the neighborhood, and to recognize and reward the contributions of black businesses in our communities,” according to a statement. “The award ceremony provides an opportunity to celebrate black businesses that provide exceptional service to customers of all nationalities and races.”
