Valley Stream man charged with heroin sale

A Valley Stream man is facing three felonies after he was arrested for allegedly selling heroin to a woman in Lynbrook on Sept. 23.

Noor Mayan, 30, of Valley Stream, was observed in what was believed to be a drug transaction in the parking lot of White Castle on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook at 5:55 p.m., according to the Lynbrook Police Department. Police said detectives were conducting a narcotics investigation in a “drug-prone area of Lynbrook” along with a sergeant who was working undercover.

Police arrested Alyssa Romer, 26, of Massapequa, who was allegedly in possession of 50 wax paper bags containing heroin that police said she bought from Mayan. Police searched Mayan’s vehicle, where they said the transaction took place, and reportedly found an additional 75 packets of heroin.

Mayan was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a B felony, and one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a B felony. Romer was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Both were arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Sept. 24.
