Valley Stream resident Bruce Staples was honored by Town of Hempstead Councilman Anthony D’Esposito for volunteering with the town’s tax assistance program.

Bruce Staples, of Valley Stream, received a citation from the Town of Hempstead on April 27 for volunteering with a town-sponsored tax assistance program.
Staples was recognized by Councilman Anthony D’Esposito at a luncheon for the program’s volunteers. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program trains volunteers to prepare federal and state income tax returns free of charge for seniors and residents with limited incomes.
The volunteers were trained through the town’s Department of Senior Enrichment.
