Village recognizes Civilian patrol

Posted

Mayor Ed Fare and Justice Robert Bogle presented a citation to the Valley Stream Civilian Patrol at the group’s annual luncheon on January 11, commending members for their dedication to helping keep their community safe.

“By serving as the eyes and ears of the community, you greatly contribute to the welfare of your neighbors,” Fare said.

The all-volunteer group is a neighborhood watch organization that patrols the community and reports to the proper authorities when there appears to be a need for intervention.

“Your diligence is definitely an asset to local law enforcement,” Bogle said.

The group’s membership has waned as many longtime members have aged, so the organization is seeking new ones. To learn more, email vscp@valleystreamcivilianpatrol.org.
