Brooklyn teen arrested for robbing Chinese restaurants, assaulting deliverers

A 16-year-old from Brooklyn was arrested on Oct. 25 for robbing multiple Chinese restaurants and assaulting the food deliverers, according to Nassau County police.

Nassau County detectives said they worked with the New York City Police Department to investigate robberies on:

1. Aug. 19 in West Hempstead, where an unknown individual called in an order of Chinese food to be delivered to Laurel Drive. When a 33-year-old delivery driver arrived on the scene, the defendant and another unknown suspect dragged him out of his car and drove off in his vehicle. The victim suffered abrasions to his knees and elbows. He was treated by a Nassau County Police Department Medic.

2. Aug. 20 in Valley Stream, where an unknown individual called in an order for Chinese food to be delivered to Arkansas Drive. When a 42-year-old female delivery driver arrived, the defendant and two other suspects assaulted her and stole her car keys, wallet and money. Two of the suspects then entered the victim’s car and struck her with the car. She suffered multiple abrasions and swelling. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.

The defendant was apprehended at his Brooklyn residence. He is charged with six counts of robbery in the second degree and assault in the second degree. He was arraigned on Oct. 25 at the First District Court in Hempstead.
