HAFTR High School girls make challah to mark Project Shabbat

Eight girls from the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway High School — Danielle Cohen, Jamie Beer, Meira Max, Jolie Mastey, Lindsay Kalish, Racheli Hamburger, Emma Pine and Isabella Steiglitz — were part of the large contingent of an all-girls challah bake at the Sands in Atlantic Beach on Nov. 12, in honor of the Shabbat Project.

The Shabbat Project is a global, grassroots movement that has united more than 1 million Jews in 1,511 cities and 101 countries around the magic of Shabbat. This year, Jews from all walks of life, ages and diverse religious sects came together to celebrate and keep one full Shabbat On Nov. 15 and 16.
