Anime features and card games at the library

Teenagers in sixth-grade through high school seniors can enjoy anime features and card games at the Henry Waldinger Memorial Library on May 26 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Registration is required, and is limited to 20 teenagers. The ‘Importance of You’ lecture at Elmont Public Library

‘La La Land’ at

Elmont Public Library

The Elmont Public Library will be screening the hit movie “La La Land” on May 30 at 2 p.m. The movie is rated PG-13 for strong language, and it features Emma Stone as an aspiring actress who falls in love with a jazz pianist played by Ryan Gosling. As the movie progresses, their career aspirations interferes with their romance, and the couple has to decide which is more important. The movie is free and open to the public. Memorial Day salute

Step back in time and celebrate a rousing Decoration Day as Memorial Day would have been commemorated in the 19th century, at Old Bethpage Village Restoration. Brimming with flowers

May is blossoming with color at Long Island Children’s Museum in Garden City. Bring the kids to craft their own “Cute as Button Flowers” that bloom all season long, on Friday, May 26, and continuing again next Tuesday and Wednesday, May 30-31.
