Laugh for a cause

Nassau Hose Co. #1 will be hosting a comedy night fundraiser with a Chinese auction and 50/50 raffles at the VFW, 65 E. Merrick Road, on June 3 from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $50 in advance or $65 at the door.

Quilling workshop

Explore the art of quilling and create an ocean themed masterpiece at the Elmont Memorial Library on June 4 at 1 p.m. Registration is required.

Learn about your computer

The Henry Waldinger Memorial Library is offering three computer classes on June 2. The first class will be on Understanding Your Computer, from 10 to 10:55 a.m.; a Microsoft Word Basics class is scheduled from 11 to 11:55 p.m.; and a Microsoft Excel Basics class is offered from 12 to 1 p.m. Registration is required.

Back in the saddle

A bit of the Wild West returns to Old Bethpage Village, Sunday, June 3, at 11 a.m. Watch modern day cowboys show off their skills in a horse mounted shooting competition, based on historic shooting events held at Wild West Shows in the late 19th century.
