Cops: Queens teenager punched Macy's employee

A Queens teenager was arrested on Dec. 5 for trying to rob the Macy's store at the Green Acres Mall and assaulting two of the employees.

According to Nassau County police, a 17-year-old from Queens and another unknown female suspect attempted to leave the Macy’s at the Green Acres Mall without paying for merchandise. Two Macy’s employees caught the women and escorted them to the loss prevention office, when the women became physical.

Police said the suspects kicked and shoved the employees, and the teenager punched one of the employee’s face. The second suspect, who has not yet been apprehended, then pushed the same employee to the ground, and kicked and punched her multiple times, causing the 37-year-old victim to drop her security radio. The suspect then fled with the radio and the store merchandise, while the teenager remained at the scene and was arrested.

The victim suffered pain to her face, ringing in her left ear and dizziness, police report.

The teenager is charged with second-degree robbery and second-degree attempted robbery. She was scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 6 at the First District Court in Hempstead.
