Village Square marks milestone

After more than two years of work at 100 Village Square, in the heart of Glen Cove’s downtown area, RXR Realty Executive Vice President of Residential Development and Construction Joe Graziose announced that the outside construction work has finally been completed at the site during a topping-out celebration on Sept. 13. Graziose, a Glen Cove native, said he couldn’t feel better about marking this milestone as RXR continues its work to finish not only Village Square, but also Garvies Point.

“These developments are some of the largest projects on Long Island, and it’s amazing to oversee something that will reshape my own home for the future and for my grandchildren,” Graziose said.

The Village Square project, scheduled to open by March 2020, aims to bring a 16,5000-square foot public plaza that would help revitalize Glen Cove’s downtown area. The plaza, located between School Street and Brewster Street, would include 15,600-square feet of retail space and 146 studio apartments, 10 percent of which would be used for workforce housing. The site would also include 171 parking spots, with 69 additional spots to be reserved at the neighboring Brewster Street garage.
