The Valley Stream Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Valley Stream is co-sponsoring their 27th Annual Fireworks Show at Firemen’s Memorial Field on July 4. Gates open at 6 p.m.

The Independence Day celebration has been a staple in Valley Stream since 1992 when the event began in its current incarnation. The night will feature free activities for children provided by Bethlehem Assembly of God and food available for purchase. Ace DJ John Piazza will provide entertainment throughout the night, leading up to the fireworks display at the end of the evening.

“The Fourth of July fireworks extravaganza is always a highlight of our summer,” said Mayor Ed Fare. “I welcome everyone to come down to Firemen’s Field on July 4 to participate in this very wholesome, traditional and exciting evening.”

Tickets can be bought in advance for $8 at Village Hall, Sip This, Hendrickson Pool Facility, Henry Waldinger Memorial Library, Paramount Physical Therapy and the Hendrickson Park Community Center. Tickets will also be sold at the gate for $10. Admission is free for children under the age of 2. There will be bleacher seating and places to lay out your own blanket. Drones, folding chairs, strollers and coolers are prohibited for safety reasons.

“It’s like an old-fashioned, giant picnic, with friends, residents and neighbors getting together and having a great time,” said James Hunter, deputy village clerk and director of operations for the event.

The Arthur J. Hendrickson Pool will provide free parking and a shuttle from the pool to Firemen’s Field starting at 6 p.m. For more information, call (516) 872-6003.

Correction: A previous version of this article incorrectly indicated that 1992 was the inaugural year for the Valley Stream fireworks show. It was the first year the fireworks show was held in its current incarnation.
