Parents and guardians  of Wantagh’s youngest residents are encouraged to stop by the library for a program dedicated to small children: Tot Time.

Wantagh Public Library officials said that the “Tot Time” sessions kicked off on Jan. 19. The program is geared towards children between 1 and 5 years old.

Karen Hauptman, a social worker, taught the youngsters songs and dances. She also led them in activities focused on simple movement, some of which incorporated the use of hand-manipulative toys.

Guardians also actively participated in the program, guiding the children through each lesson while clapping and laughing. Together, the children and adults also completed a craft.

Tot Time sessions will be held in the community room on Jan. 26, Feb. 2, 9, 16. There is a $25 class fee.
