More than 4,000 people joined the walk against heart disease at Jones Beach on Sunday. Participants sported red and white attire with pictures of loved ones on their T-shirts to demonstrate support and raise awareness for cardiovascular illnesses such as stroke.

Starting at 10 a.m., 150 teams lined up for the 5K walk at Field 5 with family members and other Long Islanders who have been affected by heart disease.
The Long Island Heart walk raised more than $300,000 for the American Heart Association and united those who are still dealing with the disease.
