A Seaford woman was killed in one-car accident on the Wantagh State Parkway Thursday morning.

New York State Police received multiple calls about a car into the woods on the northbound side, near Jerusalem Avenue, on Oct. 1 shortly after 8:45 a.m. Police found a black Cadillac sedan, which had struck a tree on the right shoulder of the parkway.

The driver, 43-year-old Amy Giunta, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the lone occupant of the car. According to police, witnesses reported the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and crossed several lanes before crashing.

The northbound lanes were closed in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway for about two hours for a police investigation.
