Wantagh gas station robbed again

For the second time in a week, the BP gas station at 1442 Wantagh Ave. was robbed. The latest incident occurred on Oct. 24 at 6:15 p.m.

According to Nassau County Police, an unknown man entered the store and, armed with a handgun, he approached the store clerk and demanded money. The employee complied, and the robber fled into a wooded area behind the gas station with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen heading north on a dirt path.

No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a white male, 19 to 25 years old, 5-foot-8 wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans, blue bandana covering his face, silver sunglasses, a dark baseball cap and black gloves. The description is different than that of the robber who held up the store at gunpoint on Oct. 19.
