Cold paws, but no complaints

Although temperatures dropped well into the single digits last week, that didn’t stop puppies from Wantagh, Seaford and Levittown from playing in the first snowfall of the year.

The National Weather Service issued a Blizzard Warning and a Coastal Flood Advisory for Nassau County on Jan. 4, which lasted through until the next day. The storm dropped nearly 14 inches of snow, blanketing communities, and brought frigid, heavy winds.

School districts canceled classes, the shovels came out and children — along with their furry friends — ventured outside to take in the fresh powder and enjoy the heaps of snow.
