Fall festivities help Forest City thrive

Forest City Community Park in Wantagh hosted over 30 vendors, live music and children’s activities on Saturday during the Forest City Community Association’s annual outdoor fall festival.

Organizers were pleased that the festival could be hosted again this year after last year’s event was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Association volunteer Sergio Hernandez said.

At the free festival, which ran from noon to 4 p.m., parents could shop for plenty of autumnal items at the pop-up shops on-site, while kids could join in on pony rides, a petting zoo, a rock-climbing wall, a bounce house and more. Live music was performed by cover band Jackie & The Rippers. Food was available for purchase at the festival, and all residents of Forest City – the residential area in the northwest corner of Wantagh - were invited to stop by.
