Another year, another magnetic fashion show during pre-prom at Malverne High School.
Arriving fashionably later than the 5 p.m. scheduled start time, seniors appeared from limo buses in gowns and tuxedos to walk the red carpet, which was lined with waiting admirers. Many dresses were sequined, some in intriguing flesh tones, others in eye-catching jewel tones. The men wore tuxedos ranging from traditional to very elaborate patterned jackets, also in jewel tones.
The rain gods smiled on the seniors that evening, halting the waterworks that had flowed steadily throughout the week.
The seniors later headed to Jericho Terrace where they put their formal wear to work on the dance floor.
