A guide for Valentine procrastinators

Posted

We already know what’s going to happen to all the Valentines Day procrastinators out there.

After working a long, hard week, they’re all going to wake up Valentines morning in a brief state of weekend bliss, which will quickly transform into panic upon this sudden realization: My heart is full but my hands, and my plans, are empty.

Well, don’t fret. We have tips and solutions for you — all laid out, locally available, and designed specifically for the eternal procrastinator.

For West Hempstead residents:

Lovers Lane Express Checkout: There are a number of florists around town that will assemble a quick bouquet for you, but if it’s 6 a.m. and you’re an early riser, Stop and Shop is now boasting a Lover’s Lane Express Checkout, reserved just for Valentine’s Day purchases. This allows the procrastinator to purchase flowers, bakery treats, cards and candies on the run — and before their significant other awakens. Stop and Shop is located at 50 Cherry Valley Rd. in West Hempstead.

Professional Floral Arrangements: If you prefer to get your flora at a flower shop, several shops have told us that they will have bouquets ready to grab and go, including Country Arts in Flowers. Westminster Nursery says they have every color rose in stock, but 80 percent of their sales will still be red. If you want to deviate from the norm, they also have a variety of beautiful orchid plants. The store opens at 7 a.m. on Valentine’s Day.

Restaurants: Good restaurants are bound to be packed, so attempting to make a reservation will probably result in disappointment. We have some solutions for that too. Keep reading.

For Malverne residents:

Lucky for you procrastinators, Malverne now has a number of great gift options available for a quick purchase.

Bald Eagle on Hempstead Ave. has a nice selection of jewelry, scented soaps, flower arrangements and more for your honey. Bald Eagle also carries a very cool FortuneKeeper bracelet that allows you to write your own message of love and tuck it within the bracelet’s secret compartment.
