Finally, treat yourself to a read or re-read of “D-Day,” by Stephen Ambrose. It is, after all, the Fourth of July, and we are waving the flag. The book is the most comprehensive and downright thrilling account of D-Day ever written. Compelling and inspiring, it captures America’s finest hour, the pivotal battle of World War II. Ambrose includes the personal stories of many of the thousands of Americans who risked their young lives to liberate Europe and defeat the Nazis. Honestly, it would be an unbelievable story if it were fiction.

Since it is the Fourth, read about D-Day and celebrate America with some old-fashioned hot dogs, burgers and corn on the cob.
