Capital One Bank robbed in West Hempstead

The West Hempstead branch of the Capital One Bank was robbed at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17.

According to detectives, two subjects entered the bank located at 255 Hempstead Avenue and approached a teller. One of the subjects demanded money while the second subject stood nearby.

After obtaining cash, they fled northbound on Maplewood Street, then east on Willets Avenue where they entered a red auto. There were six employees and two customers present in the bank at the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported.

Subject one is described as a male black approximately 30-40 years old, 6’, wearing a red nylon jacket, red baseball cap with a black brim, white shirt and light colored jeans. The second subject is described as a male black, approximately 20-25 years of old, 5’6”, thin build, wearing a blue nylon jacket, red baseball cap, white shirt and jeans.
