Curran, Mangano clean up Hall’s Pond

Assemblyman Brian Curran, County Executive Ed Mangano and the West Hempstead Community Support and Civic Association spent an afternoon cleaning up at Hall’s Pond Park on Oct. 6.

More than 100 West Hempstead residents – children, parents and seniors – came out to participate in the clean-up alongside members of Boy Scout Troop 613 and Saint Thomas the Apostle Youth Group.

Participants tended soil, painted railings & fences, weeded and planted new mums, used leaf blowers to remove dead and fallen foliage from parkland, skimmed and cleaned the pond and cleared other debris.

Assemblyman Curran and County Executive Mangano plan on holding another Hall’s Pond Park Cleanup in the spring.
