4th battalion parade

Saturday, June 25, 5 - 11 pm Hempstead Avenue, Malverne.
A fire department parade featuring engines from Malverne, Lakeview, Lynbrook, Valley Stream, Rockville Center, East Rockaway and other fire departments will run the length of Hempstead Avenue in Malverne. The parade ends in the parking lot adjacent to the Malverne Cinema, where a “block party” will feature food, beer, wine and soda for sale and a free performance of the Long Island band, Mystic. Entertainment for children will include a bouncy house obstacle course and a huge slide.  

Tea etiquette for children

Sunday, June 26, 1-2:30 pm 369 Ocean Avenue, Malverne.
Children from ages 6 to 10 will learn the history of tea etiquette, how to set the tea table correctly, the proper way to enter the table, napkin etiquette, how to serve and more when they attend the Malverne Historical Society’s Tea Etiquette for Children event on Sunday, June 26 from 1-2:30 pm. 85th anniversary of Riesterer’s

Wednesday June 29th, 4 pm at 282 Hempstead Avenue, West Hempstead
A ribbon cutting ceremony followed delicious cakes, games for children and a trip down memory lane with the West Hempstead Historical Society will be part of the 85th anniversary celebration of West Hempstead’s iconic Riesterer’s Bakery. The event runs until 7 p.m.

On stage

You’ll be feeling the beat when the Plaza Theatrical Productions’ stages “All Shook Up,” the  jukebox musical tribute to Elvis Presley. Rockin’ the beach

Town Park Point Lookout is the scene for some summertime tunes, as the Town of Hempstead celebrates Independence Day with its annual festivities, beginning with a salute to veterans, Saturday, at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a tribute to Abba and the Bee Gees with Abbamania and Night Fever, followed by fireworks.
