As names were read a rose was placed at the memorial by cub scouts from pack 240. Logan Shinsato, 9, placed his rose.

Residents and first responders gathered at the 9/11 memorial at Hall’s Pond Park in West Hempstead to pay their respect to victims of the Sept. 11 attacks last Sunday. The community’s annual ceremony featured different members of the community that included the West Hempstead Community Support Association, the Lakeview and West Hempstead Fire Departments as well as police officers and other first responders. Roses were placed for each of the local victims by West Hempstead Cub Scout Troop 240.
