Learn what makes the “unicorn of the sea” the most extreme echolocation animal on the planet at the Lakeview Public Library on Tuesday, April 3, from 4 to 4:45 p.m. See a real narwhal tooth and a walrus tusk. Enjoy a good read with your peers at the West Hempstead Public Library on Tuesday, April 3, from 7 to 7:30 p.m. The group meets on the first Tuesday of the month and read the best of books. Welcome spring at Garvies Point Preserve
Be a nature detective at Garvies Point Museum and Preserve, and take in the Long Island Sound shoreline near Hempstead Harbor, on Wednesday, April 4, 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. Investigate and explore the spring woodland and meadow environments and the living things (plants and animals!) that call these communities home.
