Monday Matinee Movie
Join the Malverne Public Library for its weekly Monday Matinee Movie on Jan. 22, from 2 to 3:50 p.m. Based on the novel written by Shrabani Basu, this week’s movie “Victoria & Abdul” tells the story of the real-life relationship between Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom and her Indian Muslim servant Abdul Karim. Yoga at the library
End your day with an energetic Vinyasa flow yoga class at the Lakeview Public Library on Wednesday, Jan. 24, from 6 to 7 p.m. The practice of yoga is meant to promote flexibility, strength and positivity. You may bring your own yoga mat or one will be provided for you. Please register at least three days prior to the program. All programs are subject to cancellation with insufficient registration. Calling all chocolate lovers! The West Hempstead Public Library has a chocolate-flavored evening scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 25, from 7 to 8 p.m. Make a box full of treats. Jazzin’ it up on a winter’s night
Enjoy the jazzy vibe of Joelle and the Pinehurst Trio, when they perform as part of Planting Fields Arboretum’s “Music at the Mansion” series, on Friday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m. Planting Fields Arboretum’s Coe Hall is the setting for an inspired performance by the versatile ensemble.
