Sen. Thomas hosting upcoming community events

Senator Kevin Thomas, a Democrat from Levittown, is hosting two upcoming community events: his annual Back to School Supply Drive and a virtual presentation called Preventing Identity Theft.

Senator Thomas is collecting school supplies for families in need from Sept. 1 through Sept. 13, as part of his Back to School Supply Drive. Suggested supplies include backpacks, wide-ruled composition notebooks, spiral notebooks, construction paper, copy paper, pencils, pens, colored pencils, markers, crayons, highlighters, post-it notes, glue sticks, tape rolls, student scissors and other office supplies. Community members and organizations can donate school supplies using a contactless drop box at any of the following three locations:

  • Evolve Health & Fitness: 1940 Hempstead Tpke., East Meadow
  • Village of Farmingdale: 361 Main St., Farmingdale
  • First Baptist Church: 54 N. Franklin St., Hempstead

Senator Thomas is partnering with the NYS Division of Consumer Protection to offer a virtual presentation to educate consumers on the topic of identity theft. The event, called Preventing Identity Theft, will be held on Sept. 16 at 3 p.m. Registration is required and could be done at the following link: https://bit.ly/31EFCf3.
