The East Rockaway School District Board of Education recognized the winners of this year’s Andrew J. Stern Memorial Essay Contest at its Jan. 17 meeting.
The East Rockaway Board of Education recognized student athletes from East Rockaway Jr./Sr. High School for their outstanding performance off the field as the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athletes and Scholar-Athlete teams were named.
East Rockaway High School senior Mikayla Cirillo was awarded the Congress of Future Medical Leaders Award of Excellence by the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists.
East Rockaway High School student Michael Watson was named Student of the Quarter at Nassau BOCES GC Tech career and technical education high school. Watson is studying to become an Emergency Medical Technician.
The East Rockaway Union Free School District recognized high school seniors who earned the distinction of Advanced Placement Scholars, and underclassmen who have achieved the Supermaster of Regents designation.
